- Massimo Dutti, Noë by Lana, Gerard Darel Sign-Up To Fashion Destination - London, XX January 2012 – Cadogan, advised by CBRE and Nash Bond, has secured three major fashion brands on the King’s Road, London, including a newly created flagship store for Massimo Dutti, reinforcing the area’s reputation as a retail destination. Cadogan merged four smaller units in the Duke of York Square scheme at 19/21 King's Road to create a unit of over 6,000 square foot. The new store, which will anchor the prime pitch of King's Road on the parade that sits opposite department store Peter Jones, has been leased to Massimo Dutti on a 10-year lease at £600,000 per annum exclusive (pax). Belgian high end shoe label Noë has made its London debut at 73 Duke of York Square after acquiring a first UK stand-alone store. As part of a European expansion drive, the brand has acquired a 700 square foot flagship store on a 10-year lease from Cadogan. The shop, which recently opened under the name Noë by Lana, carries the brand’s range of colourful heels, boots and seasonal collections. Launched in Belgium in 2008, Noë currently operates six stores in Belgium and has plans to expand into the UK and other European markets. Premium ladieswear brand, Gerard Darel, will also join the growing number of European fashion retailers in the area after acquiring a new 2,500 sq ft flagship store at 90 Kings Road on a 10-year lease from Cadogan. This is the third London store for the French label that already operates shops in Marylebone High Street and St. John’s Wood. Hugh Seaborn, Chief Executive of the Cadogan Estate, commented: “By redeveloping the Duke of Square building, re-configuring the lay-out, and securing a leading international fashion brand as anchor to complement Zara, Joseph, Space NK, Banana Republic and several other leading retailers already in the scheme, we are seeking to enhance the Duke of Yorks and King’s Road growing reputation as a fashion destination. “King’s Road continues to attract some of the world’s leading international fashion brands, with Massimo Dutti, Noe, and Gerard Darel joining US label Kate Spade, which opened to great success last year. With more big brands set to arrive later this year at both King's Road and Sloane Square, the high-end fashion sector remains remarkably strong and is performing well despite challenging economic conditions.” The Cadogan Estate comprises 93 acres of Chelsea stretching northwards on Sloane Street as far as Knightsbridge and Harvey Nichols, southwards through Sloane Square and past Peter Jones to Lower Sloane Street and westwards, with several holdings on King’s Road as far as Beaufort Street. The family’s 300 year stewardship of the Estate continues in the hands of their Chairman, the present Earl Cadogan, and his eldest son Viscount Chelsea. At the heart of the Estate is the Duke of York’s Square developed over the past ten years to provide shops, restaurants, offices, residential accommodation and recently, the Saatchi Gallery. Today the Estate includes approximately 3,000 flats, 600 houses, over 300 shops and 500,000 sq ft of office space and has a value of circa £3.0 billion.
