Cadogan appoints new Head of Sustainability

Sarra Pardali will lead the firm’s pioneering Chelsea 2030 initiative, including decarbonisation of heritage portfolio

Cadogan announces the appointment of Sarra Pardali as Head of Sustainability. Sarra will drive the company’s ambitious Chelsea 2030 Stewardship Strategy, including a roadmap to ensure the entire £5.1 billion portfolio achieves a Net-Zero target by the end of the decade.

Pardali has almost two decade’s experience working on sustainability in the built environment. She joins Cadogan after four years as Head of Infrastructure and Sustainability at the Girls’ Day School Trust, where she led on the decarbonisation programme for a 250-building property portfolio. Previously, she was an Associate Director at infrastructure consultants AECOM, leading sustainability services across a range of development schemes including the New Covent Garden Market site, London’s Francis Crick Institute (Europe’s largest biomedical research centre) and HS2 Old Oak Common station. Sarra has also worked in the US as an environmental engineer and studied in the US, Germany and her native Greece.

Cadogan’s long-term stewardship ensures the curation of residential, retail, hospitality, leisure and cultural uses across the 93 acre estate, strengthening Chelsea’s enduring appeal. Central to Cadogan’s approach is its commitment to a sustainable environment, protecting the area’s unique heritage and supporting a thriving community.

Sarra will be leading the business in working towards targets set out in its ‘Chelsea 2030’ sustainability strategy, to deliver a future-proofed estate with a focus on decarbonisation. Cadogan has made strong progress since launching the initiative, including achieving 10% carbon saving, the launch of a comprehensive Estate-wide £90 million decarbonisation programme to improve energy efficiency and a 12.3% increase in Urban Greening Factor.

Hugh Seaborn, CEO, Cadogan, commented: “Sarra has a wealth of relevant experience which will be vital to achieving Cadogan’s necessarily ambitious sustainability initiatives, including decarbonising this beautiful and historic London neighbourhood. As a long-term family business, stewardship is at the heart of everything we do and Sarra will play a crucial role in driving positive change and contributing to the creation of a flourishing local community and more sustainable city.”

Sarra Pardali, Head of Sustainability, Cadogan said: “I’m excited to join Cadogan at a time when the organisation is leading one of the most ambitious and holistic sustainability initiatives in the capital. I am well-versed with the unique constraints of heritage buildings and relish the opportunity to decarbonise some of London’s most iconic commercial and residential locations. Successful integration of sustainability principles will create value and safeguard our future – and I look forward to working closely with stakeholders across the local community, partners and suppliers to inspire change and create a lasting legacy of a greener, more sustainable built environment that serves as a model for generations to come.”
