Now in its 21st year, Chelsea in Bloom continues to flourish. Created by Cadogan in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society, the festival brings the spirit of the Chelsea Flower Show into the heart of the neighbourhood.
This year saw more than 150 extraordinary floral displays transform the streets of Chelsea. Drawing inspiration from mythology and astrology to space travel, science fiction and celestial icons such as David Bowie, participants embraced the theme with remarkable originality and ambition. Alongside local businesses, schools, churches and community groups, they created a floral trail that was as thought-provoking as it was spectacular.
The creativity on display made for a fiercely competitive awards programme. Assessed by both RHS and Lifestyle judges, this year’s entries resulted in 40 Golds, 57 Silvers and 19 Bronzes. Congratulations to all of the winners and participants whose displays impressed with their craftsmanship, imagination and ambitious interpretation of the theme.
The result was a record-breaking year. More than 1.89 million visitors were drawn to Chelsea during festival week, surpassing the previous attendance record and cementing Chelsea in Bloom’s position as London’s largest free-to-attend floral festival. From cosmic storytelling to larger-than-life floral artistry, Chelsea once again proved itself truly out of this world.
