Sloane Square set to become London’s hottest al fresco dining destination this summer

‘Summer in the Square’ sees a partnership between Sloane Square’s iconic Royal Court Theatre with neighbours The Botanist and Côte to create a stunning al fresco setting for drinking and dining this summer

Trialled in 2021, this year’s pop-up sun terrace has ‘staging’ created by The Royal Court and is set to become a vibrant destination on Chelsea’s most famous Square. The community collaboration will offer plenty of open-air seating, delicious food and drink surrounded by colourful bunting and twinkling festoon lights as the sun goes down:

The Royal Court Theatre is returning with Court in the Square, serving a summer menu featuring burgers, fresh salads, flatbreads, and smaller sharing plates to accompany their specialty drinks offering. Sip on (iced) coffees, teas, juices and soft drinks throughout summer, as well as draught and craft beer, cocktails and sustainable wines. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available and all proceeds go to support new writing at the Royal Court.

The Botanist has created a Mediterranean escape in the heart of the city. Partnering with Vaporetto and Chase, guests can enjoy a true taste of Naples this summer with a menu of artisanal wood-fired Neapolitan pizza accompanied by a curated menu of gin and vodka summer cocktails from award-winning Herefordshire-based distillery, Chase, for delicious summer-sipping.

Chic French restaurant Côte is partnering with Laurent Perrier to offer guests expertly mixed Laurent Perrier NV champagne cocktails such as the French 75, or a selection of timeless cocktails with a twist, including the Pamplemousse Spritz, a summer classic, as well as a comprehensive list of chilled rosés and crisp whites. French-inspired dishes on the menu include Croque Monsieur and Côte‘s popular Sharing Board, featuring a selection of cured French meats such as truffle saucisson sec and Coppa del sec, alongside a creamy baked French Camembert with a crispy herb breadcrumb.

Supported by Cadogan and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, ‘Summer in the Square’ is part of a borough-wide initiative to encourage the neighbourhood’s café culture. It will be complemented by a packed programme of summer events, beginning with London’s largest free flower festival, Chelsea in Bloom, from 23rd May.
