Supporting Chelsea’s local community with the launch of a new Community Grant Programme

Cadogan launches a new initiative to support community projects in partnership with the Kensington + Chelsea Foundation

Cadogan is delighted to announce the launch of a new Community Grant Programme in partnership with The Kensington + Chelsea Foundation. This new initiative will support projects that foster a thriving community and a sustainable environment, by bringing locals together and helping to make a difference where it matters most.

The new programme will offer grants to local not-for-profit organisations making a positive impact in Chelsea and focussing on community-building, environmental improvements, health and wellbeing activities, arts and culture, and ongoing support for local groups.

The Community Grant Programme will be funded in part by the Community Endowment Fund created by Cadogan for The Kensington + Chelsea Foundation in 2014. The fund grows annually through contributions from local businesses and residents, with additional funding from Cadogan to ensure it reaches its target.

Aligned with Cadogan’s broader sustainability strategy, Chelsea 2030, which integrates environmental and social responsibility into every aspect of the business, this initiative  sits alongside the more than £4 million Cadogan contributes annually to the local community, including subsidised keyworker housing and employment support and the new grants will further empower grassroots organisations to address key challenges.

Hugh Seaborn, Chief Executive of Cadogan, said: “We have been part of the Chelsea community for centuries, and this new initiative further builds on our commitment  to creating a thriving neighbourhood for generations to come. The Kensington + Chelsea Foundation has unparalleled knowledge of the issues affecting local people and grassroots charities. Working together allows us to make a bigger difference and reach those who need it most.”

Victoria Steward Todd, Director of The Kensington + Chelsea Foundation added: “We are thrilled to be working with Cadogan to provide meaningful support to grassroots organisations making a real difference to the Chelsea community. We look forward to visiting the successful applicants to see their work in action and sharing their impact with Cadogan’s partners”.
