The King’s Road Coronation Party!

Celebrate the Coronation with a day of jubilation on the King’s Road and across the neighbourhood. Saturday 6 May 2023, 12noon -5.30pm, free to attend.

As part of London’s Royal Borough, Chelsea is delighted to announce it will be hosting a day of extraordinary celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles III on Saturday 6 May along the King’s Road, including a parade of 100 King Charles Cavalier Spaniels, a march from the Royal Hospital’s Chelsea Pensioners and the chance to ‘Crown your Hero’ with Saatchi Gallery.

Produced by Cadogan and the King’s Road Partnership, the King’s Road Coronation Party will feature a pedestrianised section of the King’s Road (from Sloane Square to Cheltenham Terrace) – home to a giant feasting table as part of nation’s ‘The Big Lunch’ – as well as plenty of space for picnicking under swathes of joyful bunting.

Visitors can discover new artisanal favourites from a ‘sustainable food champions’ market, that will sit alongside the popular weekly Fine Food Market, whilst further foodie highlights include pop-up bars from award-winning pub, The Cadogan Arms and local bar, Callooh Callay and healthy treats from Sloane Square’s Vita Boutique Fitness.

A programme of music and entertainment inspired by the King’s passions will take place throughout the day; including complimentary face painting from Trotters, ‘plein air’ artists capturing the atmosphere on their easels and a parade of extraordinary hat creations from members of the Chelsea Arts Club. There will be ‘Royal personalisation’ from pop-ups by Superga and Peter Jones and many specials and themed cocktails from numerous cafes, bars and restaurants across the neighbourhood including the al fresco ‘Summer on Sloane Square’ pop-up, as well as giveaways and discounts in many local stores.

Plus, an enormous floral installation of the Royal Crest and Coronation emblem, by florist All for Love London, will offer a suitably regal backdrop at Royal Avenue to capture photos of the special day.
