Local Skills & Employment
In 2020, we created the role of Employment Opportunities Co-Ordinator (EOC) – jointly funded in partnership with Kensington and Chelsea Council.
The role is dedicated to working proactively with local businesses to support their recruitment requirements, while creating opportunities for local residents. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea contains one of the most diverse communities in the country. The work focuses on marginalised communities, young people and the long-term unemployed.
Outreach is undertaken in some of the most deprived areas of the Borough, meaning that the EOC has developed a deep understanding of the barriers into work faced by residents most in need and how these can be overcome, including working with businesses to identify and support their recruitment needs while sourcing, screening and preparing candidates for local positions – and delivering recruitment and training activities and events to connect residents with potential roles.
The programme has to date worked with over 100 employers and approximately 200 local residents – successfully placing 66 residents into roles.
For further information please get in touch with the EOC.
