Sloane Street stars in ‘The Big Egg Hunt’ – 24th March – 27th April 2025
This Easter, over 100 giant eggs designed by leading artists have been scattered across London’s most iconic locations as part of ‘The Big Egg Hunt 2025’ – an unmissable city-wide exhibition from Asia Wildlife Charity, Elephant Family in partnership with Clarence Court.
Sloane Street is hosting a clutch of 20 extraordinary eggs, laid along the recently transformed green boulevard stretching the 1km from Sloane Square to Knightsbridge. Along with its newly widened pavements and resplendent in spring flowers and blossom, Sloane Street presents an exquisite backdrop to showcase this beautifully crafted trail.
The eggs have been conceived by a who’s who of creatives from the realms of art, design, interiors, food, and fashion. Chelsea institutions have contributed in abundance, from Anya Hindmarch’s quirky, googly-eyed egg to David Mellor’s striking, sculptural “Eggstrusion.” You’ll also find creations by the Chelsea Physic Garden, Royal Hospital, Chelsea Arts Club, and the Saatchi Gallery. In celebration of Sloane Street’s recent transformation, architects John McAslan and award-winning garden designer Andy Sturgeon have also lent their talents to the egg-hatching fun. Additional highlights include Philip Colbert’s whimsical lobster egg, magnificent elephants from Sophie Tea and Annie Ralli, and Clare Coles’ exquisitely detailed golden floral egg for Diptyque Paris—just to name a few.
Visitors are invited to embark on a delightful scavenger hunt, tracking down these eggs and ticking them off via a free app that unlocks exclusive rewards and offers from participating restaurants, stores, and landmarks. And the fun doesn’t stop in Sloane Street—more eggs await across the city. Find out more here
When the exhibition ends, these incredible sculptures will be auctioned to raise vital funds for Elephant Family (the only charity to have both their royal majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla as Joint Royal Presidents). There will be a silent auction site where egg and art-lovers can bid to buy their favourite eggs, with the money raised going to support Elephant Family’s vital conservation work to protect habitats and wildlife in South Asia.
Richard Hawkes, CEO of Elephant Family said: “The Big Egg Hunt is a vibrant celebration of art and conservation which can be enjoyed by everyone. We’re delighted it’s coming back to London and hope the exhibition will spark bigger conversations about protecting wildlife as well as raising vital funds to support our conservation work.”
As well as engaging the public and driving footfall to London’s most beautiful and famed destinations, at the heart of the Big Egg Hunt is a noble mission to generate vital funds for on-the-ground projects, championed by the Royal charity, Elephant Family. With every egg hunted, the Charity and the designer involved, hope to raise awareness of critical conservation issues, to make art accessible to all and ignite conversations about conservation.
