Cadogan has signed Australian skincare brand Aesop to their award-winning Duke of York Square development.

The new store, located at 22 – 24 Duke of York Square, is 1,163 sq ft and joins a host of premium fashion and beauty brands at the destination including Monica Vinader, Liz Earle, Trilogy, Cos, Joseph, Space NK, one of Zara’s largest European stores – as well as being home to the Taschen flagship and Saatchi Gallery.

Aesop brings a modern approach to beauty retail, offering shoppers a compelling, immersive in-store experience that complements the brand’s online offer. Each of its stores is different, designed in collaboration with a team of architects, interior designers and artists. The new store, which has a lease of 10 years, is designed by architect Snøhetta and opened in October 2017.

Thomas Buisson, General Manager Europe, Aesop, said: “Chelsea has been on our wish list for several years. As always, we patiently waited for the perfect opportunity to come along and this materialised in this corner location at Duke of York Square in the immediate vicinity of the Saatchi gallery. This will be our largest U.K. store and we have asked our friends at Snöhetta with whom we have already collaborated in Berlin, Oslo and Dusseldorf to imagine an architectural concept that will match the scale and significance of this store in our portfolio.”

Hugh Seaborn, CEO of Cadogan, added “Chelsea was recently named one of the UK’s top shopping areas – our aim is always to bring in unusual brands who add to the vibrant experience of living, shopping, working or visiting the neighbourhood. Aesop’s commitment to creating a distinct, immersive customer experience excites us – the brand will be a fantastic addition to Duke of York Square.”
