Duke of York Square wins London Lifestyle Award
Duke of York Square was crowned ‘London’s Favourite Lifestyle Street’ at the London Lifestyle Awards last night (4 November 2019)
Voted for by the public, Duke of York Square beat stiff competition from the other shortlisted destinations including Bond Street, Carnaby Street, Broadway Market, Pavilion Road, Elizabeth Street and Portobello Road. The Awards celebrate ‘outstanding contribution to lifestyle in the capital’.
Originally built as a school for military orphans in 1801, Duke of York Square was acquired by Cadogan in 1998 and redeveloped to fuse classic architecture with contemporary design. It is now home to the Saatchi Gallery (currently hosting the blockbuster Tutankhamun exhibition) and newly opened Vardo restaurant, alongside several international and independent stores, including one of Zara’s largest European stores and flagships for British jeweller Monica Vinader, skin experts Dermalogica, cult beauty brand Aesop, shoe designers Miista and denim experts Trilogy. The Square’s seven restaurants and cafes all have extensive al fresco dining space and it hosts a fine food farmers market every Saturday. www.dukeofyorksquare.com
