Great Estates Book Launch
Great Estates: Models for Modern Placemaking, produced by NLA’s Peter Murray OBE and Sarah Yates and published by RIBA, details the enduring story of the appeal and success of London’s Great Estates, from the historic to the modern
Leaders in property, planning and architecture from across London and beyond gathered at The London Centre on 28 February to celebrate the publication of ‘Great Estates: Models for Modern Placemaking’, produced by NLA and published by RIBA.
This extraordinary work brings together all of London’s almost 80 Great Estates, both historic and modern (from the oldest, such as The Crown Estate, to the newest – The Olympic Park) exploring what can be learned from their unique and successful approach to stewardship and placemaking.
Guest speakers included Peter Murray OBE, Co-founder, NLA, Lyn Garner, CEO, London Legacy Development Corporation and Hugh Seaborn CVO, CEO, Cadogan. Hugh spoke about Cadogan’s focus on long-term stewardship and commitment to the community, and the enduring appeal and resilience of Chelsea.
