Cadogan announces that management of 11 Cadogan Gardens, their prestigious boutique hotel in the heart of Chelsea, has been added to the portfolio of the owners of the award-winning luxury five red-star hotels Chewton Glen in Hampshire and Cliveden House in Berkshire. It will be operated by their Managing Director Andrew Stembridge and his senior team.
The property was built by Lord Chelsea in the late 19th Century and originally comprised four separate Victorian townhouses. It quickly became popular as a home-from-home for travelling aristocrats, politicians and bon viveurs and, for many years, was a private members club. This legacy of privacy and exclusivity remains today, attracting a clientele who value its unbeatable location, eccentric charm, rich heritage and discrete luxury.
Hugh Seaborn, Chief Executive, Cadogan comments: “11 Cadogan Gardens is a wonderful hotel, and I have no doubt that under its new management the property will realise its full potential as one of London’s most desirable townhouse residences. A programme of sensitive restoration is under way to ensure this, which will include an impressive new dining experience.”
Andrew Stembridge adds, “With its distinctive style and intriguing history, 11 Cadogan Gardens is unmistakably unique and we feel it perfectly complements our existing properties. While retaining its distinctive style, we look forward to implementing the same core values that have made Chewton Glen and Cliveden world class, award-winning luxury hotels”.
