Giambattista Valli launches first UK store on Sloane Street
Cadogan announces A-list couturier Giambattista Valli as the latest fashion brand to launch a UK flagship on Sloane Street.
The two-storey boutique will occupy 29 Sloane Street, taking over 2,500 sq ft of retail space to showcase the fashion house’s designer collections including the Oscar-worthy evening gowns he is famous for, alongside accessories, jewellery and newly launched activewear. The design takes inspiration from London’s distinctive style and culture, with vintage and contemporary furniture sourced from auctions and antique shops across a range of decades, including the ‘40’s, 50’s and ‘70’s. Striking green malachite coffee tables and a distinctive 70’s leather modular sofa are showcased against wooden parquet and endless mirrors. A giant, sleek screen hovers over a dramatic staircase welcoming shoppers to the Valli universe.
The store will join neighbouring luxury brand flagships such as Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Alberta Ferretti, Emilio Pucci, Roger Vivier, Ermanno Scervino, Missoni and Emilia Wickstead – all of whom have their sole UK presence on Sloane Street. Hermes and Fendi have also recently ‘relaunched’ with larger boutiques on the Street.
Founded in 2004, Maison Valli rapidly gained stature among luxury fashion houses, dressing celebrities like Penelope Cruz, Amal Clooney, Naomi Campbell and Diane Kruger. Joining the designer’s European stores in Milan, Paris, and St Tropez, and Asian locations in Seoul and Beijing, the London opening marks an important milestone in Giambattista Valli’s international expansion plans
Hugh Seaborn, CEO of Cadogan, commented: “Giambattista Valli’s flair for creative, beautiful womenswear will bring something thrilling and new to London shoppers – undoubtedly becoming a firm favourite with visitors and local residents alike. We work hard to curate an exciting and memorable retail experience, with a captivating mix of international brands, alongside homegrown talent and independent artisans. We are pleased to see the flagship complement the existing world-class luxury fashion offer on Sloane Street.”
The signing of Giambattista Valli signals the beginning of a number of launches and developments on Sloane Street, as Cadogan implements new plans for the Chelsea and Knightsbridge area to ensure it remains a leading destination for visitors and the local community to shop, work, live and visit.
