The Walpole Townhouse comes to Chelsea

New ‘home’ for UK luxury to open in Spring 2023.
We are pleased to announce the signing of Walpole, the official sector body for the British luxury industry, to Two Cadogan Gate in the heart of Chelsea.

The new Walpole headquarters, the ‘Walpole Townhouse’ will span an elegant three-story red brick town house, featuring a member’s lounge and event space suitable for board meetings or intimate press days.

Hugh Seaborn, Chief Executive, Cadogan commented: “The Walpole team will be a great addition to the vibrant creative community here. The Walpole Townhouse is nestled between the independent artisans of Pavilion Road and internationally famous luxury of Sloane Street – a perfect reflection of their membership.

We have the highest concentration of luxury brands here than anywhere other neighbourhood in London, so we hope members will feel very much at home and look forward to working together to help support their exceptional work in promoting British excellence.”

Walpole is the UK’s only business association for luxury brands, a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to protect, promote and develop the business of luxury in the UK. It speaks on behalf of more than 250 of Britain’s finest brands, collectively worth £48 billion to the UK economy, encouraging collaboration and providing a collective voice on key topics and issues affecting the sector. They champion and nurture upcoming talent through programmes such as ‘Brands of Tomorrow’ and spearhead sustainability benchmarks across the industry.

The move will also see the joint publication of a new flagship annual report between Walpole and Cadogan, ‘The State of London Luxury’. The report, which will detail what makes London the best city in the world in which to grow a luxury brand and explore the unique blend of retail, hospitality and culture that makes London one of the world’s leading destinations for both domestic and international tourists, will be published in May.

Helen Brocklebank, Chief Executive, Walpole said: “Community is at the heart of everything we do at Walpole, and I have long aspired to create a permanent space which is open to members and will become a hub for business, creativity and collaboration as Walpole continues to grow. To be able to take up home on the Cadogan Estate, which, through its curation of boutiques, hotels and restaurants and cultural experiences, is redefining the contemporary urban luxury experience in London, is a dream come true. Cadogan’s support for luxury businesses large and small to create a thriving community serving locals and visitors alike, is deeply aligned to Walpole’s own mission and I am hugely excited about the potential of this new partnership.”
